Heart Media was part of a University project asking me to produce an E-commerce site with a shopping cart along with a content management system (CMS) to allow the user to update and manage the website. For reference the website is produced in PHP and the CMS is programmed in Coldfusion.
I felt this project was very successful as it allowed me to mesh the simple design with the site producing a smooth running website that is pleasing to the eye.
From the left to right: The first image shows the home page, which consists of a hot picks selection of 4 DVD's (simply a randomly generated 4 DVD selection) and a coming soon area (again 4 random pre-order selections). You can also see the simple navigation on the left of the site along with the search and login functions. The cart is visible in the top right.
The second image shows the category screens. The image also shows that the user can organise the images how they would like to see them. The user is also able to choose the number of images on each page.
The third image shows the view the user gets if they click a DVD title. It shows a larger image of the title chosen and a small summary of the movie. There is also an area to allow a user to add their own reviews to the product. This would then allow other users to view the star rating other users had awarded the movie.
The fourth image shows the cart in more detail, showing how the products are totalled and allowing the user to increase the number being purchased.
The fifth image shows the registration process, this can be expanded for use on other sites and contains mid-level security restricting the fields on the site.
The final image shows the search results page. This is a more complex search than I have used before as it searches for all instances of the search term. This is an ideal candidate for using a better search such as a keyword search (where keywords are shown as the user types)
